Giving Tuesday 2020
Giving Tuesday Countdown:
Do Good Stuff! Giving Tuesday takes place on Tuesday, December 1 and BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation (BCAITC) invites BC to join the movement dedicated to giving back! 2020 has posed unforeseen challenges for us all, especially those working in the education field. Communities across the province are encouraged to help BCAITC raise funds on Giving Tuesday to develop more online resources to assist BC educators with teaching K-12 students about agriculture and food!
In the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s now more important than ever to teach students about BC’s amazing agriculture and food story including environmental, food security, and healthy lifestyle topics. With support of additional funds, BCAITC can develop more innovative online agriculture and food resources with links to K-12 curriculum including Science, Social Studies, Math, Food Studies, Culinary Arts, and other subjects. These free resources are easily downloadable from BCAITC's educational resource library by teachers and at-home educators anywhere, anytime!

“We appreciate all the supporters over the years who have helped champion our many educational agriculture growing, culinary, and fresh delivery programs including our popular BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Program” said Pat Tonn, Executive Director at BCAITC. “These donations have helped us reach over 500,000 students across the province! For this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign, we are focusing on obtaining donations to develop more resources for our online library of videos, lessons, activities and unit plans. These are in-demand during the pandemic as educators seek out new ways teach students the value of food and agriculture. We need your support to help us to enhance and expand these tools. We appreciate all contributions,” Tonn continued.
