We planned this event to be an evening where people can learn about BC's agriculture and what we do to bring this education to teachers and students on our programs. We had three presenters who represented different areas of our programs: Harkers Organics - they supply product for our Fruit and Veggie Program, our Celebrity Chef Randle - a Culinary Arts instructor and part of our Take a Bite of BC program, and Angie Quaale, representing Johnston's and BC Pork - partners who donate pork to our Take a Bite of BC program. In addition to the presentations, we also had two workshops delivered by nursery specialists, Brenda Falk from Tanglebank Gardens and Karine Chartrand from Premier Tech.
The food was prepared by Chef Scott Roberts and his team of Culinary Arts students who also participate in our Take a Bite of BC program. His students were eager to share with guests what kind of BC product was used in creating the dishes.
It was a wonderful night, where people could get together and share activities, food and learn about our educational programs. We love seeing people come together to learn and enjoy agriculture!
Chef Randle gave a lively demonstration on how to make Sage, Parsley and Ricotta Ravioli - see recipe
Chef Scott Roberts of Abby Senior and his students whipped up a delightful assortment of BC flavours. The spring rolls were the hit of the night!
