The Spotlight Series on Honey is a multi-faceted tool that includes the following resources:
- Video: Students can learn about honey farming in a 14-minute video featuring the passionate team at Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm & Meadery. The video was a collaboration of BCAITC, 4-H BC, and the BC Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Fisheries.
- Activity: Educators can teach students about different types of honey with a honey tasting activity and lesson plan.
- Recipes: Students can practise their culinary skills while making delicious honey recipes created by BCAITC’s Chef Trevor Randle such as Chocolate Pudding with BC Honey Candied Hazelnuts, and BC Belgian Endive and Cranberry Slaw with Honey.
- GIS Activity: Students can explore Grow BC, an interactive GIS map and story resource, to learn about BC honey. This resource provides straightforward integration into class curriculum.
