The Spotlight Series on Beef is a multi-faceted toolkit that includes the following resources:
- Video: Students can learn about BC Beef in a 8-minute video featuring BC Ranchers.
- Activity: "Why Does BC Beef Taste So Good?" lesson plan features a video viewing guide. Plus, students can do the Beef Cuts Matching and Beef Cuts Cut & Paste activities.
- Lesson Plans: We have three engaging Beef units tailored for different grade levels- Primary "All About Beef!", Intermediate "Beef it up!", Secondary "Sustainability in the Beef Industry".
- Recipes: Students can fine-tune their culinary skills while making beef recipes like Hoisin Braised BC Chuck, BC Beef Zesty Lettuce Wraps, and BC Ancho Lime Beef Fajitas.
- Grow BC: Students can explore Grow BC, an interactive GIS map and story resource, to learn the story of beef. From where and how beef is produced, this resource provides straightforward integration into class curriculum.
