Highlights from the Day at The Farm

We were thrilled to be part of the Day at The Farm event once again, a highlight of the season for agriculture enthusiasts and families alike. Hosted by the Delta Farmland & Wildlife Trust in collaboration with Westham Island Herb Farm, this eagerly awaited event offers a unique opportunity for people in the Lower Mainland to connect with farms, farmers, and local food production.

Day at The Farm is a vibrant celebration of agriculture, featuring interactive workshops, fascinating displays, food trucks, lively cooking contests, and even hay-wagon rides. Whether you're a long-time supporter of BC farms or new to the scene, there’s something for everyone!

BCAITC proudly participated with Chef Randle and volunteer students from the Take a Bite of BC program, serving delicious food samples made from local products at the event. The highlight of the day was our farm-fresh Chicken Quesadillas with Cilantro Lime Crema. We served over 450 of these tasty samples, alongside samples of Potato and Bacon Hash with Eggs and Blueberry Crème BruleeCheck out the recipes at : https://www.bcaitc.ca/recipes. Thanks for all of the local products donated by Delta farmers, Saputo, Save-On-Foods, and BC Egg.

The event wasn’t just about enjoying great food; it was an opportunity to share the story of food and agriculture in BC, bringing people closer to the source of their meals and fostering a deeper appreciation for local farming. We look forward to continuing to celebrate and educate at future Day at The Farm events!
