2024 Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month

PLANT, GROW, EAT, SHARE - AGRICULTURE LITERACY CHALLENGE

MARCH 1-31, 2024

To celebrate the 13th annual Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) we are launching an agriculture literacy challenge in March. Read books about PLANT-ing food and farming, GROW food, EAT and cook recipes featuring BC products, and SHARE with others.

 

OVER $2,125 IN PRIZES

 

  • EARLY BIRD PRIZE DRAWS: Register by February 23 for a chance to win 1 of 2 $50 Indigo gift cards. Plus, the first 25 teachers to register will receive $25 Starbucks gift cards!
  • WEEKLY DRAWS: Active participants (who read books, watch videos, complete activities, and post reviews during March) have a chance to win 1 of 2 $100 Indigo gift cards.
  • GRAND PRIZE DRAWS: Win 1 of 2 $250 Indigo gift cards and a BCAITC Literacy Prize Pack!

 

Read books about food and farming! Complete any accompanying learning activity (planting, eating, sharing) and write reviews for more chances to win prizes!

Register and Participate in the Challenge:

  1. Go to https://aitc.beanstack.org or download the Beanstack Tracker app from the Google or Apple stores.
  2. Register as an individual/family or class/group.*
  3. Select the challenge and explore the overview and accompanying badges.
  4. To log minutes of reading, viewing, or activities or to write a review, click the buttons on the top left-hand corner of the site.

* If you participated in last year’s challenge, you can log into your account and make changes to your participants.

BCAITC’s featured book for CALM is Plant Grow Eat Share. This primary-level storybook follows Abby and Fabian as they experience their indoor classroom garden and grow a friendship in the process.
